Refund and Cancellation Policy

A legal disclaimer

Last updated: 16 March 2026

Zerosum Recordings aims to be clear and fair about cancellations, refunds, rescheduling, and digital purchases. This policy applies to services booked through the website and to any digital products sold through the site.

Services and Bookings

Bookings for recording, mixing, mastering, mobile recording, podcast editing, sound design, live sound reinforcement, and theatre technical support may require advance payment, a deposit, or full payment, depending on the service.

Deposits

Where a deposit is taken, it is non-refundable unless Zerosum Recordings cancels the booking or agrees otherwise in writing.

Cancellations by the Client

If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking, please give as much notice as possible.

If notice is given at least 48 hours before the agreed session or booking date, any amount paid beyond a non-refundable deposit may be transferred to a new date or refunded at the discretion of Zerosum Recordings.

If notice is given less than 48 hours before the agreed booking date, Zerosum Recordings reserves the right to retain some or all of the payment to cover time already reserved, preparation already completed, travel, setup, or other committed costs.

Failure to attend a booked session without notice may result in the full session fee being retained.

Rescheduling

One reasonable reschedule request may be accepted, subject to availability. Additional changes or repeated rescheduling may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking.

Cancellations by Zerosum Recordings

If Zerosum Recordings needs to cancel or reschedule due to illness, emergency, technical failure, venue issues, or other unforeseen circumstances, an alternative date will be offered where possible. If rescheduling is not possible, any amount already paid for the affected booking will be refunded.

Mixing, Mastering, Editing, and Project Work

For mixing, mastering, editing, and similar production work, refunds are not normally offered once work has started and the project files, review materials, or first revision have been delivered.

If a project is cancelled before work begins, a refund may be issued minus any non-refundable booking deposit or any costs already incurred.

If a project is cancelled after work has started, Zerosum Recordings reserves the right to charge for the work completed up to that point.

Digital Downloads and Portfolio Products

Digital products, including music, audio files, downloadable media, and documents, are generally non-refundable once the download or access process has begun.

By purchasing a digital product for immediate download, you agree that delivery begins straight away and acknowledge that your 14-day cancellation right is lost once the download starts, where applicable under UK consumer law.

Faulty Digital Content

Nothing in this policy affects your legal rights. If digital content supplied by Zerosum Recordings is faulty, not as described, or otherwise does not meet the standards required by UK consumer law, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction, or refund as applicable.

Physical Goods

If Zerosum Recordings sells any physical goods in the future, refund and return terms for those items will be stated separately where relevant.

How Refunds Are Issued

Approved refunds will be returned to the original payment method, where possible. Processing times may vary depending on the payment provider and bank. Wix notes that refund handling can depend on the connected payment method or provider used.

How to Request a Refund or Cancellation

To request a cancellation, reschedule, or refund, please contact Zerosum Recordings using the contact details on the website, including your name, booking details, and the reason for the request.
